From School Board to the Capitol, John Hoffman Sworn in as Senator from District 36

Saint Paul — This past Tuesday, January 8th, former Anoka Hennepin School Board Vice Chair John Hoffman, took the official oath of office becoming the new Senator from District 36.
“I am honored to be the state senator from District 36,” said Hoffman. “In November, voters spoke loud and clear about the change they wanted to see at the Capitol. And now, I’m ready to break through the partisan gridlock and focus on what really matters–growing our economy with good paying jobs and finding real, sustainable solutions to our budget problems.”
During the 2013 legislative session, Senator Hoffman will serve as Vice Chair to the Environment and Energy committee. In addition, he will sit on the E-12 Division of the Finance committee, the Health, Human Services and Housing committee, as well as the Elections subcommittee
“My committee assignments represent issues not only important to me, but issues I know my constituents care about. I made a promise to strengthen the education we’re providing our children, to build an economy that keeps Minnesota competitive, and to focus on the middle class — and that’s exactly what I plan to do.”
