Senator Jim Carlson named “Friend of Transit”
ST. PAUL, MINN – In recognition of his work on suburban transit needs, State Senator Jim Carlson (DFL-Eagan) was named a ‘Friend of Transit’ by the Suburban Transit Association last week. Sen. Carlson was recognized for his bipartisan work to ensure allocations for suburban transit providers were included in the transit funding bill.
“Transit needs are just one piece of the wider puzzle of transportation needs in Minnesota. I am honored to be acknowledged as a friend of transit,” said Sen. Carlson. “We all know this is an issue that transcends party lines, and I am happy to work to improve our transportation system with my colleagues across the aisle.”
As Chair of the Legislative Commission on Metropolitan Government and member of the Transportation and Public Safety Committee, Sen. Carlson has prioritized the transportation needs of suburban cities with a focus on transit needs.
