Jensen recognized with Guardian of Small Business Award

Saint Paul [1/27/15] – Senator Vicki Jensen (DFL-Owatonna) is proud to announce that she has been awarded the National Federation of Independent Businesses’ (NFIB) Guardian of Small Business Award. To receive the award, legislators had to demonstrate a supportive voting record for small business during the 2013-14 sessions of the Minnesota Legislature.

“Senator Jensen is a real friend of small business and we are happy to announce that she has earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award,” said Mike Hickey, Minnesota State Director of the NFIB.

The organization gives out the award at both the federal and state level to recognize legislators who have been supportive of small business on critical issues.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Sen. Jensen. “Being a small business owner myself, I recognize the difficulties that come with making your business succeed. I know that small businesses are the backbones of our local communities, and the importance of making sure we do our part in the Legislature to ensure our local businesses thrive.”
