Senate Majority Leader Bakk addresses ongoing special session negotiations

St. Paul, Minn. — Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) released the following statement in response to Gov. Dayton’s letter to legislative leaders:

“I would like to thank Governor Dayton for his leadership on the three important issues highlighted for a special session. DFL Senators agree that a special session should be limited to one day and address unemployment on the Iron Range, REAL ID, and the economic and racial disparities that affect Minnesotans across the state – these subjects deserve to be addressed as soon as possible.

My Senate DFL colleagues and I are committed to working toward solutions for these three critical concerns, and I look forward to Speaker Daudt’s response.”
