Senator Susan Kent responds to news of Rep. JoAnn Ward retirement

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — State Senator Susan Kent, DFL-Woodbury, released the following statement after Rep. JoAnn Ward announced she will not seek re-election to the Minnesota House:

“With Representative Ward’s retirement, the House is losing a strong woman with a powerful voice for her community and the state of Minnesota. Her years of service have been a testimony to her dedication to public service and the legislative process.

Anyone who’s spent five minutes with JoAnn knows how deeply she cares about her community and how dedicated she has been to her work as a legislator.

While I am sad to lose a partner in the House, I am happy for JoAnn as she explores her next steps. I am so grateful for her friendship, and I know that she has important work ahead of her. I look forward to seeing where her next endeavor takes her.”
