Senator Karla Bigham Issues Statement in Response to 3M Settlement

St. Paul, Minn. – In response to the 3M settlement with the State of Minnesota, Senator Karla Bigham (DFL-Cottage Grove) issued the following statement:

“As a result of the 3M settlement, Minnesota communities impacted by perfluorinated chemicals will receive $850 million to ensure our area has clean and safe water for our children, families and senior citizens. My top priority is to make sure the resources from the settlement are used to do right by the people who have been impacted. In response to the settlement, I have spoken with Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey and am in the process of communicating with other local officials about next steps in ensuring we receive our fair share of the settlement funds.”
