Senator Latz stands up in support of Minnesota Constitution

ST. PAUL, Minn – State Senator Ron Latz, DFL-St. Louis Park, stood up on the Senate Floor this week to highlight the unconstitutional act of the lieutenant governor holding two offices simultaneously. He released the following statement.

“Former-Sen. Michelle Fischbach ascended to the office of lieutenant governor as soon as a vacancy occurred in that office. Our constitution states no person can hold both the office of lieutenant governor and state senator at the same time. I rose this week to ensure the Senate had a record of my objection to Lt. Gov. Fischbach presiding over the Senate in a clear violation of the Minnesota Constitution.”
