Senator Erik Simonson Participates in UMD Bulldog Lobby Day
St. Paul, Minn. – Senator Erik Simonson (DFL-Duluth) today participated in the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Bulldog Lobby Day. According to the UMD Student Association, the event is an opportunity to engage legislators in conversation about what makes UMD unique, special, and a critical part of Minnesota.
“It takes a special degree of passion and commitment to spend an entire day on the road and meet with legislators, so I want to make sure we give everyone who participated in Bulldog Lobby Day the recognition they deserve,” said Sen. Simonson. “In me, UMD students have an ally that will fight for lower tuition, state-of-the-art classrooms, campus safety, and opportunities for stable employment after graduation.”
Sen. Simonson is the author or co-author of multiple legislative proposals that would have a positive impact on the lives of UMD students and their college career, including:
-SF 541: Duluth Glensheen mansion renovation bond issue and appropriation
-SF 156: Resident tuition relief grant program establishment and appropriation
-SF 863: University of Minnesota (U of M) Duluth laboratory building construction bond issue and appropriation
