Senator Tomassoni Congratulates Delta’s Chisholm Workforce on Safety Award

“If there was an Olympics for Reservation Centers, you would win the Gold Medal.”

St. Paul, Minn. – Minnesotans who work at Delta Air Lines’ Chisholm-based Iron Range Customer Engagement Center today received recognition as a Minnesota Star (MNSTAR) Program worksite. The award, created by MNOSHA, recognizes worksites where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health management systems. Delta’s Iron Range Customer Service Center, known as “The voice of Delta,” employs approximately 450 Minnesotans.

Due to legislative committee meetings at the State Capitol, Senator David Tomassoni (DFL-Chisholm) was unable to attend an 11 a.m. ceremony honoring workers for their accomplishment, but shared the following message to be read at the event:

“Congratulations to all the employees of the Delta Air Lines Reservation Center in Chisholm on receiving a new workplace safety and health award from the MNOSHA. It’s no surprise that the best workers in the company are also the safest and healthiest. Delta has long known, and been the beneficiary, of our Iron Range work ethic – people who work hard, show up on time for work every day, perform at optimum levels, and stay with the company year after year. I’m very proud of you and I’m happy to compliment you on yet another well-deserved award and I’m just as proud to be able to say that I’m your senator. I wish I could be there and celebrate with you, but be assured that I’m there in spirit and I will let my colleagues in the Legislature know that if they want to travel hassle free, to contact the Delta Air Lines Reservation Center in Chisholm. If there was an Olympics for Reservation Centers, you would win the Gold Medal. Once again, congratulations.”
