Senator Sandy Pappas: Missed Opportunities

St. Paul, Minn – State Senator Sandra Pappas (DFL-St. Paul) said the 2018 Senate Bonding Bill contains a number of missed opportunities. There is nothing for public safety and this bill does very little to take care of our current commitments to taxpayers.

As the Senate DFL Capital Investment Lead, Sen. Pappas released the statement below:

“This bill represents a number of missed opportunities. It is woefully inadequate in its investments in public safety, higher education, and preserving state assets. The bill ignores urgently-needed investments to build world-class colleges and universities, and repair state buildings and other critical infrastructure across Minnesota. This bill does not honor the commitments of previous investments made by taxpayers. We must repair and maintain our state-owned assets – everyone knows that it’s cheaper to replace the shingles than the house. We can’t afford to put off basic infrastructure improvements any longer.”
