SAINT PAUL, MN— Today, the Minnesota Senate passed a bipartisan bill providing support for Minnesotans impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill includes the creation of the COVID-19 Minnesota Fund, which transfers $200 million from the general fund to ensure state resources are immediately available to respond to the needs of our state and citizenry.
“I’m proud to have worked with my colleagues in the promulgation of the COVID-19 Emergency Fund, included in this bill, to ensure our state is able to financially respond to unknowable and unpredictable challenges,” said Senator Richard Cohen. “The emergency fund included in this legislation allows our government to react to the most immediate needs as they change each day. While this is certainly not a long term solution, I remain committed to finding additional ways to support our community.”
