Hayden appointed to Senate Finance Committee

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Assistant Senate DFL Leader Jeff Hayden, DFL-Minneapolis, was appointed to the Senate Finance Committee last week. The committee handles all appropriation bills traveling through the Senate and approves finance bills before they appear on the Senate floor for a vote.

“It’s an honor to serve on the Senate Finance Committee,” said Hayden. “I’m ready to hit the ground running and work to ensure we’re using our legislative process to build the state all Minnesotans deserve – that means fighting for high-quality education, affordable and accessible health care, and increasing support for working families. It also means protecting our state economy from the instability around the corner.”

Hayden has served in past sessions on the finance divisions of Health and Human Services, Equity, Commerce, and State Government. He is the ranking minority member on Human Services Reform Finance and Policy.
