Hayden statement on Walz budget for One Minnesota

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Assistant Senate DFL Leader Jeff Hayden, DFL-Minneapolis, released the following statement in support of Governor Walz’s budget aimed at bringing down the cost of health care, improving public schools, and ensuring communities across the state are prospering.

“Budgets are moral documents, and this One Minnesota budget makes it clear addressing racial disparities is a priority for our state. Gov. Walz extends funding to help close the state’s opportunity gaps for Minnesotans of color – he not only knows Minnesota’s future labor market will need all its workers no matter their zip code or skin color, but that working towards equity is just the right thing to do.

“I also applaud Gov. Walz’s ONECareMN proposal to extend low-cost coverage to thousands of Minnesotans. We know every Minnesotan deserves access to quality health care at a price they can afford and this is an important step to make premiums more affordable and increase options for people across the state.”
