John F. Kennedy’s quote, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country,” has guided Steve Cwodzinski’s life’s work. He has spent over 30 years teaching American Government at Eden Prairie High School, challenging over 12,000 students to think for themselves, speak out in the face of injustice and find empowerment in a sense of political efficacy. This passion for teaching led to being named Southwest Metro Teacher of the Year and was a Presidential Scholar’s Influential Teacher Award winner. Outside of the classroom, Steve has been married to Patti for 30 years and they raised two children together. He is an an avid camper, backpacker, canoeist and hiker in Minnesota and national parks.
