This is the 10th year in a row graduating Minnesota students have received this ranking
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – For the 10th straight year, Minnesota’s graduating seniors received the highest ranking in the country on their ACT scores. Minnesota seniors averaged a score of 22.7 – nearly two points higher than the national average of 21. Minnesota Senate Education Committee Chair Sen. Chuck Wiger (DFL-Maplewood) said it’s no accident Minnesota students have consistently scored at the top of the country.
“Minnesota has enjoyed a successful business climate, and continually wins awards for best place to live and work because it values education. At the legislature we make funding E-12 education a priority each year. When a society invests in their children, your community reaps the rewards. We know that making education a priority from the moment a child is born, is absolutely critical to the success of our entire state. I’m so proud of Minnesota’s hard working high school students, keep up the good work,” said Sen. Wiger.
“This past legislative session we continued our commitment to education, providing the third largest investment in education funding ever. I look forward to working on education issues during the upcoming session.”
