The full Finance committee heard two online gambling prohibition bills Thursday morning and sent them both to Taxes.
S.F. 188 prohibits online electronic instant games, Play at the Pump, Play at the ATM, and casino-style games from being offered by the MN Lottery. The bill passed to on a bipartisan divided voice vote. Division was called and the bill passed by a vote of 9-8.
S.F. 229 included the gambling prohibitions and the Allied Charities technical bill. Sen. Pappas moved to delete the gambling prohibition section from the bill. The amendment passed by a bipartisan divided voice vote. Division was called on the amendment and it passed by a vote of 10-7. The Allied Charities bill then passed without the prohibition section to Taxes on a unanimous voice vote. (S.F. 188/S.F. 229)
