Minnesota’s redistricting process would be completed by a nonpartisan commission if voters approve a constitutional amendment introduced by Senator Jason Isaacson (DFL-Shoreview). The bill, SF 2233, would ensure a fair process in drawing balanced congressional and legislative districts following the 2020 census.
The Duluth Medical Exchange District has taken one step closer to becoming reality as it moved through the Senate Jobs and Economic Growth Finance and Policy Committee today. The bill, SF 1207, invests $164 million in state funding to create a Medical Exchange District. The bill is being carried by Senator Erik Simonson (DFL-Duluth).
Governor Tim Walz recently appointed Senator Chuck Wiger (DFL-Maplewood) as one of Minnesota’s members on the Education Commission of the States. In this role, Senator Wiger will work with legislators across the country in inter-state efforts to advance effective education policy.
