Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk released the following statement in response to the release of Governor Dayton’s supplemental budget proposal:
Last week’s budget forecast showed Minnesota’s economy continues to make gains, and today Governor Dayton showed the fiscal leadership needed to build on our momentum and ensure long-term economic growth for our state. I am pleased the Governor has made reinforcing Minnesota’s budget reserves a priority, and applaud his restraint in additional spending that impacts not only this budget cycle, but the next. As we review the Governor’s supplemental budget with our colleagues in the legislature during the coming weeks, the Senate Tax Committee will hold hearings to carefully consider both the Governor’s tax bill and the House tax bill in as timely a manner as possible.
