(St. Paul, MN)- Senate leadership has appointed Senator Kevin Dahle (DFL-Northfield) to the conference committee for the Education Finance Omnibus bill. Sen. Dahle and the other four conferees will work with five House members to resolve the differences between the House and Senate versions of the high-profile Education Finance bill.
“I’m honored to be named part of this conference committee,” said Sen. Dahle. “This is some of the most important work Minnesota does, and I’m looking forward to sharing my experience as an educator and a parent as we work together to come to a final agreement.”
The Senate version of the Education Finance Omnibus includes a basic formula increase of one percent for each of the next two years, higher than the House increase. It also funds an expansion of a highly successful school readiness program and funding changes to school facilities improvements authored by Sen. Dahle. Several provisions enhancing teacher quality, bolstering career and college readiness, and technology education make up much of the rest of the bill, which is designed to strengthen Minnesota schools and students alike.
