(SAINT PAUL, MN) State Senator Sandra Pappas is holding two town hall meetings with her local state Representatives Carlos Mariani and Rena Moran on February 22. Town halls are informal public meetings that give members of the community an opportunity to meet with their legislators to discuss the 2014 legislative session, emerging issues and to voice concerns.
Local School Board Members, City Council Members and County Commissioners will also be in attendance and can provide information on local issues and answer questions area residents may have regarding local government. Congresswoman Betty McCollum has also been invited to round out this impressive group of state, local and national leaders.
“After more than a decade of budget cuts and deficits, the DFL has finally moved Minnesota towards a more stable economy. Now that our state is on firmer ground, it is time to address some of the issues important to our communities.” said Sen. Pappas. “I urge citizens to attend our town hall meetings so we can hear your concerns–which will give us a better understanding of how we can close the equity gap, ensure our neighborhoods are safe and make sure all our children have access to a world class education.”
