University of Minnesota-Duluth Homecoming runs Oct. 5-11
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota-Duluth’s campus will swell with Bulldog pride the first week of October, and Sen. Roger Reinert (DFL-Duluth) along with his wife Layla are thrilled to share in the excitement as the University’s homecoming parade Grand Marshals. UMD’s Homecoming 2015 kicks off on Monday, October 5 and runs through Sunday, October 11, 2015.
“I’m so honored and excited to celebrate Bulldog pride along with the entire City of Duluth as the school’s Grand Marshals. Bringing campus into the community is an excellent way to celebrate the great partnership between UMD and Duluth; that connection is at the heart of the land-grant university mission. UMD is a wonderful asset to our entire region, and I look forward to celebrating with students and alumni,” said Sen. Reinert.
The Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Thursday, October 8 at 6 p.m. The route follows the downtown waterfront between 1st Avenue West and 4th Avenue West on Superior Street and is expected to last about an hour. Area bands and dance organizations, UMD athletes, Champ, and community dogs participating in the “Mutt Strut” sponsored by Northland Party are among the 50 entries scheduled to participate in the Homecoming Parade.
