Sen. Tomassoni responds to Governor’s updated budget

ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Dayton released his updated budget for the 2014-15 biennium incorporating the impact of the February forecast projecting a $627 million deficit rather than $1.1 billion. Senator David Tomassoni (DFL-Chisholm) released the following statement regarding the Governor’s plan:
“Since the start of session, we’ve made creating an honest and responsible budget a top priority. Governor Dayton’s initial proposal laid the foundation for our budget discussion and I am pleased to see he reinforced the same priorities in his revised version released today. Creating strong investments in education, job growth, and infrastructure makes Minnesota a better place to live and do businesses. Minnesota’s economic recovery, security, and growth of the middle class relies on our creation of a fair and responsible budget.
Next week the Senate will announce its budget targets. We will continue working with Gov. Dayton and the House to create a budget that reflects and strengthens our shared Minnesota priorities.”
