Senate Transportation Committee Comes to the East Metro

St. Paul, MN – To hear from the public firsthand about the State’s transportation needs, the Senate Transportation and Public Safety Committee will tour and hear public testimony in the East Metro on Thursday, March 5. The visit will include a bus tour of the Gateway Transit Corridor and a public hearing.

Chair of the Committee, Sen. Scott Dibble (DFL-Minneapolis) is encouraging people to provide their input on the state’s transportation network, as well as the Senate’s transportation funding plan.

“As the East Metro region continues to grow, our transportation network is struggling to meet the increased demands placed on our aging system. It is crucial to continued prosperity that we make the investments needed to modernize and expand our transportation network for these communities. We must ensure businesses like 3M are able to expand, that needed transit like the Gateway Corridor is supported, and that residents are able to get where they need to go in a safe and timely manner,” said Sen. Dibble.

Details of the tour itinerary are available below, all stops are open to the press and public to attend:

3:30 PM – Gateway Corridor tour via MetroTransit Bus

6-8:00 PM – Hearing with Public Testimony at the Woodbury Central Park Amphitheater
8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury, 55125
