Senator Clausen Named Education Legislator of Distinction

ST. PAUL, MINN – The Minnesota School Boards Association has named Senator Greg Clausen (DFL-Apple Valley) one of their Legislators of Distinction for 2019. The award comes for his work on increasing funding for special education and mental health services and for his Minnesota school safety center legislation.

“As a former educator and school principal, education has always been a priority for me,” Sen. Clausen said. “I’m a huge advocate of providing not only funding for our students but making sure they are safe in our schools, authoring legislation to provide school linked mental health grants and introducing initiatives to improve special education. As lawmakers it is our duty to ensure our students are getting the very best education possible and have the support necessary to succeed.”

Senator Greg Clausen is a member of the Minnesota Senate Education Committee and a former teacher, principal and coach in the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District.
