ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senator Kari Dziedzic (DFL – Minneapolis) received a 2017 Housing Leadership Award from Housing First Minnesota for her work this past session. The award recognizes Senator Dziedzic for her efforts throughout the 2017 legislative session to promote homeownership at a price families can afford.
Housing First Minnesota is a grassroots coalition focused on increasing access to safe and affordable homes for all Minnesotans. They cited Sen. Dziedzic’s authorship of the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act, which became law this year.
“Housing affects every aspect of our lives and communities. This is an issue seen in Minneapolis and across the State,” said Senator Dziedzic. “I look forward to continue working on solutions to resolve Minnesota’s housing shortage with Housing First and other partners. Every person deserves a home that is safe and affordable and as the population in the Twin Cities grows we must continue to address this issue.”
Sen. Kari Dziedzic represents District 60 in the Minnesota State Senate, serving over 20 Minneapolis neighborhoods. She is DFL lead on the Agriculture & Housing Finance Committee and is also on the Environment Finance Committee, the Tax Committee, and the Legislative Citizen Commission for MN Resources (LCCMR).
