SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Senator Melisa Franzen, DFL-Edina, was recognized by the I-494 Corridor Commission for her dedicated service to improving transportation options for residents, employers and commuters in the Twin Cities and specifically on the I-494 corridor.
“As a commuter, a small business owner, and a resident along the I-494 corridor, I understand the need to keep congestion reduced and traffic flowing on that main corridor system in our state,” said Sen. Franzen. “Thank you to the commission for this award. I look forward to continuing my role at the state level as a Transportation Finance Committee member and making transportation a priority in Minnesota.”
Senator Franzen’s support was instrumental in passing bills in 2015 and 2017 for funding to assist residents, employers and commuters along the I-494 corridor. She has continued to provide leadership in the Senate and in conference committee to support bills that improve the efficiency, access and mobility on I-494.
