Senator Karla Bigham Named to Committee on Human Services Reform Finance and Policy

St. Paul, Minn. – It was announced today that Senator Karla Bigham (DFL-Cottage Grove) is joining the Senate Committee on Human Services Reform Finance and Policy, effective immediately.

“I look forward to expanding the work that I will be doing together with my colleagues in managing how Minnesota’s human services move forward,” said Sen. Bigham. “Human services is a major component of our state budget and is an area of high priority as we work to deliver better services for Minnesotans. I look forward to learning and providing oversight in this vital area.”

The Committee on Human Services Reform Finance and Policy’s jurisdiction covers social services and mental health services. Senator Bigham’s first appearance on the Committee will be at tomorrow afternoon’s hearing at 3:00 pm.

Karla Bigham represents District 54 in the southeast Twin Cities metro, including parts of Dakota and Washington counties.
