Senator Rest to be on the Omnibus Tax Bill Conference Committee

ST. PAUL, Minn – Senator Ann Rest (DFL-New Hope), the 2019 minority committee lead on taxes, will be on the conference committee for the omnibus tax bill. [HF 2125]  She joins Senators Roger Chamberlain, David Senjem, Jeff Howe, and Gary Dahms.

“I appreciate being named to the 2019 Tax Conference Committee,” said Senator Rest. “I plan to work for income tax relief for working families, for property tax relief for our local governments and to support public school education programs. I continue to oppose using tax payer dollars to support private and religious school vouchers. “

The House and Senate conferees will start dissecting the omnibus tax bill tomorrow, May 3, 2019, at 9 a.m. G-15 at the State Capitol. Since the tax bill is a House file, the House holds the gavel first.
