ST.PAUL, MINN. – Members of the Senate Capital Investment Committee will be reviewing capital investment projects next week during a three-day bonding tour running October 16-18. The Southwest Bonding Tour will be stopping at regional sites, including the Minnesota Security Hospital, Mankato Civic Center, Rapidan Dam, Southwest Regional Sports Center, and Glacial Lakes State Trail at Sibley State Park.
Senator LeRoy Stumpf (DFL-Plummer) who chairs the Capital Investment Committee will be leading the tour throughout the region. The tour will hear presentations from cities and organizations who have requested funds through the 2014 bonding bill at local MNSCU locations. State legislators from the region will also be along to highlight projects in their districts.
“These tours are an important part of the bonding process. It is an opportunity for Committee members to understand and evaluate each project fully in order to make funding decisions that will benefit the greatest number of Minnesotans,” Senator Stumpf said.
Subsequent regional tours will be carried out every other week throughout October and November, with the final tour wrapping up in the first week of December. The tour dates and regions will be as follows:
October 16-18: Southwest, MN
