Minnesota State University students walk 100 miles for affordable higher education

ST. PAUL, MN – As Republican legislative leaders go rogue with budget negotiations and post their own version of an inadequate higher education budget, Minnesota House and Senate DFL Legislators are supporting Minnesota State University students on their 100-mile walk from Minnesota State Mankato to the state Capitol.

The students are walking to raise awareness of the need for affordable higher education. The students who represent Mankato, Moorhead, Bemidji, Winona, and St. Cloud will reach the state capitol on Wed., May 10. Legislators will walk with the students for the last few blocks in solidarity for increased higher education funding.

Senator Greg Clausen and Senator Kari Dziedzic to hold Twitter Town Hall on Higher Education

ST. PAUL, MN – As budget negotiations continue on higher education, Sen. Greg Clausen and Sen. Kari Dziedzic are inviting Minnesota higher education institutions, students, student associations, and the public to join the conversation on the higher education budget which will affect thousands of Minnesota students. Sen. Dziedzic and Sen. Clausen will be hosting a Twitter Town Hall tomorrow at noon to talk about the education budget and answer questions.

Senator Nick Frentz sends Mankato State students off on their 100-mile trek to St. Paul

ST. PAUL, MN – As budget negotiations continue on higher education, Sen. Nick Frentz (DFL-Mankato) is not only fighting for higher levels of funding, he is supporting local Mankato State students on their 100-mile walk to the Capitol to raise awareness of the need for affordable higher education. Sen. Frentz will be greeting the students and wishing them well at the start of their journey.
