Hayden, Hassan, Gomez Announce Town Hall Meeting

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Assistant Senate DFL Leader Jeff Hayden, DFL-Minneapolis, Representative Hodan Hassan, DFL-Minneapolis, and Representative Aisha Gomez, DFL-Minneapolis, will hold a town hall meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sabathani Community Center. The town hall focus will be on this session’s legislative issues. Sen. Hayden will give updates on his African American Family Preservation Act and Gov. Walz’s budget proposal.

SD 63 Pre-Session Town Hall

Please join Rep. Jean Wagenius, Rep. Jim Davnie and Senator Patricia Torres Ray on Saturday, December 1st from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for a pre-session town hall in our district. This event is intended as an election debrief and a view forward with special guests School Board Director-elect Kimberly Caprini and County Commissioner-elect Angela Conley.

Joins us to discuss what we can expect to happen next session as we take questions from members of the community. We anticipate different conversations on a wide variety of topics, including how every Minnesotan can access affordable, quality healthcare, how we can better support students and schools, move transit and transportation forward, respond to the affordable housing crisis, and many other issues.

Sen. Bobby Joe Champion, Rep. Raymond Dehn, and Rep. Fue Lee to hold a town hall meeting

St. Paul, Minn.— State Senator Bobby Joe Champion (DFL-Minneapolis) along with Rep. Raymond Dehn (DFL-Minneapolis) and Rep. Fue Lee (DFL-Minneapolis) are holding a Town Hall meeting on Monday, Feb. 19 to discuss issues facing the 2018 legislative session. Town hall meetings are informal public forums that give members of the community an opportunity to meet with their legislators to talk about emerging issues. The legislators will be informing community members of their roles and how they can help area residents.

The legislators have invited two special guests to participate in the meeing: City Council Member Jeremiah Ellison and County Commissioner Linda Higgins.

“We urge citizens to attend our town hall meetings so we can hear your concerns,” the legislators said. “Town hall meetings give us a better understanding of the issues that matter to our district and ideas on how to solve them.”

Northern Metal must get it right or get out of North Minneapolis

The Minneapolis Star Tribune recently published an article on a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) analysis of air monitoring data, which has confirmed lead levels in North Minneapolis are 10 times higher than other locations. MPCA regulators say they’re concerned and need to investigate this further. Personally, I’m incredibly disturbed by this news.
