Doctors, nurses and DFL legislators offer positive health care solution: Universal healthcare needs to be part of the Minnesota legislative debate


ST. PAUL, Minn – At a time of rapid change at the federal and state level, where Republicans are proposing major cuts in health care coverage, Minnesota doctors, nurses and DFL legislators offer a different approach. Chief authors of the Minnesota Health Plan, Sen. John Marty (DFL-Roseville) and Rep. David Bly (DFL-Northfield) are holding a press conference on Thursday morning to offer their proposal, alongside fellow House and Senate co-authors (2/3 of all DFL legislators have signed on as co-authors) as well as nurses, doctors, and several advocacy organizations that support the bill.

WHO: Speakers include: Sen. John Marty, Rep. David Bly, Rose Roach with the Minnesota Nurses Association, Chris Reif, a University of Minnesota physician, representatives from Take Action and the Land Stewardship Project as well as a small business owner.
