In response to the 3M settlement with the State of Minnesota, Senator Karla Bigham (DFL-Cottage Grove) issued the following statement.
State Senator Karla Bigham (DFL- Cottage Grove) was sworn in today as the newest State Senator representing the southeast metro, including parts of Dakota and Washington counties.
St. Paul, Minn.—Senator-elect Karla Bigham will take the oath of office on Tuesday February 20, ahead of the 2018 legislative session convening. Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie Skjerven Gildea will administer the oath of office at 11 a.m. sharp on the Minnesota State Senate chamber floor.
Guests, public attendees, and members of the media will be permitted to enter the floor at 10:45 a.m. Media and public will be permitted to film and use flash photography from 10:45 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. on the floor of the Senate. Access to the floor will be available to all who wish to attend, via the North and South side chamber doors. No admittance will be granted through the main chamber door. This event will stream live via the Minnesota State Senate website.
