Republicans Tax Plan makes promises that the state can’t keep

Senate Republicans outlined their 2020 tax bill proposals this week, a wish list that spends more than   $1 billion in the first year, with mounting, ongoing costs. Perhaps most concerning, Republicans announced the plan before even knowing the state’s current budget balance – those numbers aren’t released until next week. The tax plan is an election-year wish list that sounds good on the surface but is seriously lacking in fiscal restraint and effectiveness. Read more >>

A Valentine’s Day rally to protect love for all Minnesotans

LGBTQ activists rallied with Governor Walz and DFL Senators at the State Capitol on Valentine’s Day, demanding an end to conversion “therapy” practices in the state. Grain bin safety is a priority

Since June of last year, there have been at least 10 grain bin-related deaths in Minnesota. A Star Tribune analysis in 2015 found that there were 19 grain bin-related deaths between 2004-2014, and the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry found three grain bin-related deaths between 2010-2018 on farms with 10 or more workers.
