Defended Labor Rights of Minnesotans
As legislative Republicans have coordinated with corporate business interests to attack labor protections for Minnesotans, Senate DFLers held strong and blocked efforts to weaken or end key policies that support workers and their families, including Paid Family and Medical Leave, Earned Sick and Safe Time, the Ban on Non-Compete agreements, and more.
Improved benefits for Minnesotans injured at work
The Worker’s Compensation bill included an adjustment to the permanent partial disability (PPD) schedule in Minnesota statutes. PPD benefits are payable for the permanent functional loss of use of the body based on a disability schedule, and changes are effective for dates of injury on or after October 1st.
The modifications to the PPD schedule will increase benefits for workers that are permanently injured in a workplace injury, ensuring they can afford care and afford their lives if injured at work. (SF 3720– McEwen)
