Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic Says Tentative Contract Agreement Between Teamsters and UPS is Good for Everyone, and for MN Economy

Says Collective Bargaining Process Worked to Reach Agreement and Avert Strike that Would Have Hit Supply Chains, Businesses and Households Across Minnesota  

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL-Minneapolis) said the tentative contract agreement between UPS and the Teamsters union announced today is great news for 325,000 workers in Mnnesota and across the country, who will see higher wages and improved working conditions, and for the company, which will maintain a top-quality workforce.  She said the agreement will not only avert a crippling strike, but it also shows that collective bargaining work.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL-Minneapolis) said the Senate early Saturday passed a bill to legalize cannabis for Minnesotans over the age of 21 that sets up responsible regulations, addresses racial disparities, and expunges low-level cannabis convictions.  The measure, which has already passed the House, will now be sent to the Governor to be signed into law.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL-Minneapolis) said today that Governor Walz has signed into law the state’s first-ever Paid Family and Medical Leave bill to give Minnesotans up to 12 weeks of paid time off to care a newborn, a sick family member or to recover from a serious illness.  The measure passed the Senate last week along party lines with every DFLer voting for it.
