Zero interest loans available for flood-affected farmers

In response to recent flooding, the Minnesota Rural Finance Authority (RFA) has lowered its interest rate on the Disaster Loan program to zero percent to help farmers cover the costs of replacing and repairing damaged or lost items that were not covered by insurance. This includes farmers in Dodge, Rice, Steele and Waseca Counties.

Student Loan Tax Credit

As co-authors of the student loan tax credit, we are thrilled this landmark provision is part of the final, agreed upon tax bill. When the House refused to give the bill a hearing, we were concerned it would not become part of the final tax compromise.

Equity Subcommittee Holds First Hearing

The Senate Equity Subcommittee co-chaired by Sen. Jeff Hayden (DFL-Minneapolis) and Sen.
