St. Paul, Minn.—Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) has released the following statement following Minnesota Management and Budget office released the February Forecast. The forecast showed our economy is stable with a surplus of $900 million, but there is reason to exercise caution as we approach the next biennium.
“Today’s forecast shows that legislators should be cautious as we develop tax and spending plans for the upcoming session. DFL Senators will continue to keep an eye to the future health and growth of our economy.
DFL Senators will work to pass legislation that will benefit working families—a comprehensive transportation package, thoughtful education investments, paid family leave, and a robust bonding bill will be priorities we will focus on as we continue to build an economy that works for everyone,” Bakk said.
