On Friday we kicked off our listening tour up north by leaving St. Paul behind and caravanning up to Grand Rapids. We hail from Shoreview, Edina and Duluth, and we’ve chosen to leave our districts for a few days to begin talking to voters across Greater Minnesota.
We have recognized that sometimes we spend too much of our time in St. Paul, or our own little worlds, thinking up big ideas to help Minnesotans – without taking input from the people we are trying to help. We’ve learned some pretty tough lessons over the past few months – but we want to do better.
The first step is now: leave our comfort zones, drive north on Highway 2, and talk to locals.
We’re looking forward to hearing from all kinds of people and taking what we learn and sharing it with our DFL colleagues. We want to turn what we hear into action to help keep Minnesota the wonderful place we all call home.
