East Saint Paul Business Owner Foung Hawj, sworn in as new Senator from District 67

Saint Paul, MN — This past Tuesday, January 8th, Senator-elect Foung Hawj was officially sworn in making him the new state Senator from district 67.
“It is an honor and a privilege to take the oath and begin serving as the Senator from the East Side,” commented Hawj. “Today marks not only a new beginning for the legislature, but the time to address the issues and concerns I heard from people all across my district while on the campaign trail. I look forward to serving the people.”
This session Hawj will serve as Vice Chair of the Environment, Economic Development, and Agriculture Division on the Finance committee. Additionally, he will sit on the Environment and Energy committee as well as the Jobs, Agriculture and Rural Development committee.
“My committee assignments will allow me to focus on the issues important to the people of East St. Paul. Finally, I can put my campaign priorities to work ensuring that we attract new business that create good-paying jobs and that we protect the beautiful parks and green spaces the East Side is blessed to have.”
