A recent bill heard in the Senate would memorialize Congress to remove the deadline for ratification of the proposed Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by states. There are 35 states that need to be reactivated – including Minnesota – that have ratified the equal rights amendment statewide before it expired by the 1982 deadline. Three more states are needed to reach the 38-state majority needed for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. (S.F. 113)
