Food trucks permitted to operate at highway rest stops

Governor Walz signed Executive Order 20-49 this week, permitting food trucks to operate at up to six highway rest stops in Minnesota. This order will benefit both food truck owners, who have seen reduced traffic in many of their spots during this pandemic and thus reduced revenue, and truck drivers who have had their fresh food options severely restricted as many restaurants have been closed across the country due to stay-at-home orders. The order will provide more options for truck drivers, who play a critical role in supporting the supply chain and depend on eating their meals while on the road during long deliveries.
