Governor Walz visited the Minnesota Zoo yesterday, June 3, 2021, to continue his tour highlighting the state’s “Your Shot to Summer” COVID-19 vaccine incentive campaign. The campaign aims to encourage Minnesotans to roll up their sleeves and get their vaccine during the next month. The goal is to reach 70 percent of Minnesotans over the age of 16 to be vaccinated by July 1 by providing rewards for those getting their first dose of the vaccine in June.
“I’m proud to stand beside Governor Walz at the beautiful Minnesota Zoo to encourage Minnesotans to roll up their sleeves and get a vaccine to combat this deadly virus that has plagued our world over the last year and a half,” said Senator Greg Clausen (DFL-Apple Valley). “It’s exciting to see the Minnesota Zoo on the incentive program to bring in people to experience all that the zoo has to offer.”
The first 100,000 Minnesotans, aged 12 and older, who get their first COVID-19 vaccine between May 27 through June 30, 2021, will be eligible for many awards. The Minnesota Zoo will give one adult admission eligible until September 8. The Minnesota Department of Health will provide recipients’ contact information to the Minnesota Zoo which will email information in order for Minnesotans to redeem their admission.
