Senator Rob Kupec

Senator Rob Kupec is currently in his first term representing Senate District 4, which includes Becker and Clay County, after being elected in 2022. He is vice chair of the Agriculture, Broadband, and Rural Development Committee, and serves on the Health and Human Services Committee, Higher Education Committee, and Labor Committee.

Originally born in Connecticut, Senator Kupec earned a degree in Atmospheric Science from the State University of New York-Albany in 1992. He moved to Moorhead in the year 2000 with his wife Deb where their son Quinn was born and raised and where they have lived ever since.

Shortly after moving to Moorhead, Kupec began working as a meteorologist for WDAY-TV and then served as chief meteorologist for KVRR.

Senator Kupec’s priorities at the legislature include expanding access and lowering the cost of childcare, making higher education more affordable, tax relief for seniors, farmers, and young families, supporting K-12 education, increasing funding for nursing homes, funding for rural Emergency Medical Services and stronger railroad safety measures.
