Senator Lindsey Port has served in the Minnesota Senate since 2021. She represents District 55, which covers the communities of Burnsville and Savage. She is a longtime resident of Burnsville, where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and their two puppies.

Senator Port is chair of the Housing and Homelessness Prevention Committee, and in 2023 she championed a historic $1 billion investment in safe, affordable housing for all Minnesotans. She is the Senate Chair of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, which leads legislative efforts to secure bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom. As chief author of the 2023 adult-use cannabis legalization bill, Senator Port had the once-in-a-career opportunity to legislate a new government agency, regulate a formerly prohibited industry, and prioritize social equity within Minnesota’s new industry.

Senator Port also serves on the Elections Committee, the Transportation Committee, and the Energy, Utilities, Environment, and Climate Committee.
