Senator Susan Pha represents Senate District 38, which is the most diverse Senate District in the State of Minnesota and includes Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center and Osseo. She is Vice Chair of the Capital Investment Committee, serves on the Housing and Homelessness Prevention Committee, and is a member of the People of Color and Indigenous Caucus, Minnesota Aisian Pacific Caucus and Reproductive Freedom Caucus. Senator Pha is also on the Governor’s Residence Council and a Legislative Board Member of the Council of Asian Pacific Minnesotans.
Prior to winning the historic 2022 Senate race and becoming the first person of color to represent her district, Senator Pha served on the Brooklyn Park City Council for two terms from 2016 to 2022 as the West District Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem.
Senator Pha is strongly committed to affecting real change in Minnesota. She has fought relentlessly to create new economic opportunities, invest in education and youth development, and ensure affordable and safe housing, and she has vigorously championed racial and social justice.
Senator Pha is a small business owner, real estate consultant and investor. She and her husband Nicolas have five children and one grandson.
