A bill was heard in the Housing Finance and Policy Committee that would allocate resources to the Bridges Program. Through the program, rental assistance is provided for families with at least one adult member who has a serious mental illness. They also need to meet certain income thresholds to qualify. The money for this program is temporary, in that it keeps people in stable housing until they receive a Housing Choice Voucher.
The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus housing bill. (SF 1839)
