Infrastructure Improvements for Clara City

State Senate Lyle Koenen (DFL-Clara City) introduced a bonding bill to provide funding for necessary infrastructure improvements for Clara City. The appropriation, SF1781, would provide $748,000 in bonding money to design, improve, and reconstruct a local road to a nine-ton capacity with curb and gutter, and to replace or extend existing water main, sanitary, and storm sewers to serve the South Hawk Creek Business Park area of Clara City.

“One of the most critical aspects of bonding is for infrastructure projects. Many of our small towns in Minnesota are unable to afford their own infrastructure improvements. By using bonding, we are prioritizing the nuts and bolts improvements that our small towns depend on. I’m hopeful this request will make it in to our final bonding bill,” said Sen. Lyle Koenen.

The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in the final omnibus bill.

Governor Dayton and the Minnesota House of Representatives have both released their bonding proposals for a 2014 bonding bill. The Senate will be releasing theirs in the upcoming weeks. For more information on bonding, check out the website
