Leadership Update on Rideshare Legislation

St. Paul, Minn. – In an update to the press and public on rideshare legislation negotiations, Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy and House Majority Leader Jamie Long (DFL-Minneapolis) released the following statement:

“Meetings over the last several weeks between a working group of Senator Fateh and Representative Hassan, drivers, House and Senate leadership, cabinet members, staff and stakeholders have been positive and productive.

Our leaders on this issue are working to make sure that the interests of drivers and their families are represented and consumers have sustainable access to this critically important service. Policymakers have a powerful opportunity to set a baseline standard of pay and benefits for the people we trust to get us and our loved ones to school, doctor’s appointments, and the airport. We are confident we will pass the best rideshare driver bill in America this session.”
