SAINT PAUL – State Senator Alice Johnson joined a number of veterans in the governor’s office on July 16 as Governor Dayton signed the female veterans’ specialty license plates legislation into law.
Minnesota is home to more than 29,000 female veterans, many who have advocated for this bill. Chief Author, Senator Alice Johnson (DFL-Spring Lake Park) said she is proud to carry this bill because female veterans are not often recognized as an important component of the military. “Specialty license plates for female veterans is just one small way Minnesota can recognize, thank and honor our Minnesota veterans and show them their military contribution is valued,” Sen. Johnson said.
